Back to siteCOMPARISON METHODOLOGY
This page explains how offers are selected, normalized, ranked, and displayed.
- Ranking criteria categories
- Price components (energy unit price, fixed monthly fee)
- Contract characteristics (term length, type)
- Offer constraints (eligibility, region, campaign conditions)
- Product attributes (e.g., green/renewable options)
- Data freshness and completeness
- Commercial factors (where disclosed)
Market coverage clarification:
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, we do not represent that we display all electricity providers or all available offers in the Finnish market. Displayed results may reflect partner-integrated or data-accessible inventory.
- Weighting logic (range model)
By default module, weighting typically follows:
- Total estimated cost factors: 50–80%
- Contract/feature fit: 10–25%
- Freshness/completeness: 5–15%
- Commercial/promotional weighting (specific modules only): 0–20%
Exact weighting may vary by page intent (e.g., “cheapest now†vs “balanced recommendationâ€).
- Tie-break rules (in order)
- Lower estimated total cost
- Lower fixed fee
- Better data freshness
- Clearer contract transparency
- User-selected preference fit
- Update frequency / SLA
- Primary feed refresh target: [hourly / every 3 hours]
- Secondary/manual checks: daily
- Incident fallback mode: display latest valid snapshot with freshness caveat
- Region filtering
Offer display can depend on:
- User postal/region input
- Provider service area eligibility
- Product-specific constraints
- VAT and fees
Where source data supports it, prices are labeled VAT-inclusive or VAT-exclusive. If source ambiguity exists, we add a context note and recommend verifying on provider checkout.
- Time-of-day effects
Electricity-related products may vary by time window and market movement. “Last updated†timestamp is shown on comparison outputs and should be considered by users before decision.
- Data validation policy
We run checks for:
- Outliers/anomalous values
- Missing critical fields
- Stale timestamp thresholds
- Broken link/landing destination integrity
